Harpist, Dedra Coffee, continues to perform harp music for
a variety of weddings, receptions and other special occasions in the greater Kansas City area. Dedra began studying
music at nine years of age. Dedra Coffee plays the harp combining talent with years of experience
as she performs your choice of music, making sure the music for your event is everything it should be and more. Set
the mood for your event with the harp's unmistakeable presence, incomparable sound, and unmatched elegance.
The
harp is beautiful to look at and to hear. Harp music is the perfect addition for many special occasions. The harp
is ideal for both small intimate gatherings, as well as very large events for which amplification may be desirable. It
is an ideal choice as a solo instrument, however the harp is often complimented by flute, violin, or other instruments.
Dedra's repertoire is based on numerous requests received over the years and it includes classical music,
popular songs, old standards, show tunes, and special occasion music, including choices which are pleasing to all ages.
Dedra played nightly for the Fairmont Hotel for eight years. In addition she played regularly for Bent
Tree Country Club, Four Seasons Hotel and Resort, and Lawry's the Prime Rib. In the Piedmont Triad area of North
Carolina she played for High Point Country Club, the International Furniture Mart, and Grandover Resort. In
the Kansas City area she has played at Mission Hills Country Club, Powell Gardens, WynBrick Event Center, the Argosy,
Ward-Meade Park, and numerous churches and private events in Kansas City. Dedra studied the harp with
Houston Symphony harpist, Beatrice Schroeder Rose, who also taught harp at the University of Houston and Rice University.
She played with the Houston Harp Ensemble for Holiday Concerts and television specials throughout the Houston area.
After graduating from high school, Dedra went to college at the University of Texas at Austin where she continued to
study harp with Gayle Horn Barrington and she played the harp with the University of Texas Harp Ensemble. She played
the harp regularly at the Driskill Hotel and other places in the area.
